In the COLDLAP mitt, expect a wider wrist to keep the cuff together better, and an overall wider fingerbox. We hit what we felt was the best balance between roomy and slim, so it doesn’t mash your fingers but doesn’t twist much on the rope. Better stitching throughout holds everything together, and we still hit the price point that keeps you from starving. Let them dry out after every use by sliding them onto pegs or at least hanging from the wrist bands, so you don’t stink up the place.

Biography:
Born out of frustration at ropetows eating 6 pairs of mitts per season, the journey to the perfect durable vs comfortable combination brings us to today.
The design originated on a sewing machine at my mother-in-law’s kitchen table in 2015. We bought leather from SR Harris in the cities, traced out mitts that we liked, and tweaked the style until we had a mitt that was pretty decent. That got sent to a factory in China, where they recreated it, and we went through 8 versions before the first mitt was finally produced for the 16/17 season.
Today we’re partnered with a major manufacturer in China that produces a bunch of big brands you’ve been seeing for years. We changed the mitt to a full pigskin shell, with seam tape and double stitching to keep it dry and keep it together on any ropetow you’ll find out there.
